9 g
1 cup (250 g) canned crushed tomatoes
250 g
2½ Tbsp (40 g) tomato paste
40 g
¼ cup (60 g) no-sugar-added ketchup
60 g
2 tsp yellow mustard
10 g
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

5 tsp (20 g) allulose
20 g
1 Tbsp (15 g) coconut aminos
15 g
1½ tsp chili powder + 1 tsp smoked paprika + ½ tsp salt
8 g
Method
- Brown the beef hard in a wide skillet over medium-high, breaking it up, about 5 minutes. Add the onion, pepper, and garlic; cook 4 more.
- Stir in the tomato paste and spices and fry 60 seconds until brick-red and fragrant.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, lentils, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, allulose, and coconut aminos. Simmer uncovered 12–15 minutes until thick enough to mound on a spoon.
- Taste and push it: it should read sweet, then tangy, then savory. Adjust allulose/vinegar/salt until it does.
- Pile onto toasted bread. Accept the mess — that's the dish.
